The Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center (HRECC) is pleased to recognize Assistant Director Lauren Mielke who has received a prestigious professional certification.

Assistant Director Mielke received the Emergency Number Professional (ENP) Certification from the National Emergency Number Association (NENA). The ENP Certification signifies broad-based competence in the field and recognizes the recipient’s mastery of the comprehensive knowledge base required for emergency number program management, contributions to raising industry standards and commitment to the 9-1-1 profession through leadership and continuous knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.

To receive the certification, candidates must apply to the program before passing the Emergency Number Professional Certification Examination. The exam evaluates a candidate’s knowledge of telecommunications operations, databases and information systems, telecommunications-related legislation and regulations and management and governance.

Once a candidate has earned the ENP credential they maintain it by fulfilling recertification requirements every four years or passing the exam again before the recertification deadline.

Assistant Director Mielke is one of fewer than 40 professionals to hold an ENP certification in Massachusetts.

“Congratulations to Assistant Director Mielke on this outstanding achievement,” Director Steve Hooke said. “The work she put into receiving the credential shows her strong commitment to the profession and her deep knowledge of the 9-1-1 system and telecommunications operations. HRECC is fortunate to have Assistant Director Mielke on our team.”

Assistant Director Mielke has been with HRECC since July 2018. She also has several years of public safety communications experience prior to her current role.
