BROCKTON — Easton Fire Chief Kevin Partridge, Easton Police Chief Gary Sullivan, and Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center Director Steve Hooke are pleased to announce that their agencies were among several first responder agencies throughout the region paying a special visit to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton Monday, April 20 to show appreciation to the hospital’s employees.

As part of the event, first responders drove their police cruisers, fire engines and ambulances through the hospital parking lot before looping around and parking along the North Pearl Street entrance. They then waved and said thank you to the hospital workers as some arrived to work and others left during the 3 p.m. shift change.

More than 75 emergency vehicles took part in the event.

“This was a terrific way for us to show our appreciation to local healthcare workers,” Chief Partridge said. “It means a lot that so many first responders and departments from the area were willing to take part.”

The event was organized by Chief Partridge and Director Hooke through his role as Emergency Management Director for the City of Brockton.

In total, three vehicles from the Easton Fire Department, four vehicles from the Easton Police Department, and a vehicle from the HRECC were represented.

“We were happy to give thanks to the hospital workers for what they have done during this pandemic,” Chief Sullivan said. “No group has done more work on the front lines battling this disease, and it’s important to recognize the doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers for all they’ve done keeping our communities safe.”

“The saying that has been used a lot during this pandemic is that we are all in this together, but when it comes to first responders and healthcare workers it is very true,” Director Hooke said. “It was terrific to see so many different agencies coming together to acknowledge the employees of Good Samaritan Medical Center for all that they’ve been doing since the onset of this pandemic.”
