HOLBROOK — Director Steve Hooke reports that the Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center fielded numerous 911 calls during a serious fire in Rockland earlier today.

On Saturday, May 22, HRECC received over a dozen 911 calls reporting a building fire at 91 Pacific St. in Rockland. Telecommunicators helped coordinate a response to the 3-alarm fire with the Rockland Police and Fire Departments, as well as mutual aid partners. In total approximately 10 communities responded to assist.

COML/COMT staff from the HRECC was also on the scene.

The fire engulfed the three-story, multi-family home in Rockland, and at least one resident and two firefighters were reportedly sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the blaze.

“This was a serious fire with a large regional response, and our team did a tremendous job assisting all those who responded,” Director Hooke said. “I commend the hard work of the HRECC staff involved, as well as those from the many mutual aid partners on scene.”
